The Visitor is a complete mess. Despite what some might say, I’d argue the film is actually coherent—just utterly ridiculous and absurd. Honestly, I have no idea what it’s trying to be. There’s plenty of religious imagery and thematic elements, but none of it seems to amount to anything.

Over the course of about 2 weeks I’ve been rewatching this film in parts, about 20 minutes every now and then. Tonight I saw the last 20 min of the film.
It hasn’t been all that long since the last time I rewatched Taxi Driver and my opinions haven’t changed all that much. I still think this film is a masterpiece but I must say the second act really wasn’t as good as I remember and even a little disappointing…
