Absorbing and moving, with a great central performance, all the moreso when considering that he'd never acted before. I just wish they'd shown a bit more of the before and after. It's hard to judge whether or not all the suffering was worthwhile if we don't find out what happens to him once he's in Europe. And the fact that his only motivation for the trip seems to be that he wants to be a pop star, and that his…

Nope. After a brisk and entertaining first act, with some genuinely amusing and original moments, this suddenly lost me as soon as Mickey 18 showed up. The paces slows fatally, characters start acting nonsensically, and there's a lot of drawn out speechifying instead of properly written scenes. In fact the dialogue throughout is terrible. He really needs a co-writer, although honestly I'm not sure this mess could have been salvaged even by the best script doctor.

Never really bought the Gosling-Blunt romance on which the film is built, the plot is silly, there are a ton of movie references instead of proper jokes, and the action scenes aren't even that special. Some moderate fun in places, but overall a disappointment.

What the F* Is Going On?

Some things I didn't like about this:
It jumps too quickly from one interviewee to another, barely letting them say one phrase each and not allowing them the time to develop and fully express their thoughts.
Some of it may be confusing for non-Spaniards. I'm not familiar enough with the different parties to be able to parse some of the political debate elements which are specific to Spain.
Some clips of disturbingly violent pornography, which I wasn't expecting.

But there's a lot of powerful material here, and it's well balanced between the differing viewpoints as to the best way for feminism to move forward.
