Breathtaking nature images and a cute story about a boy and his alpaca.
The main conflict of the film is a mining operation that threatens his small, rural community, but this is cleverly told in the background of the boy's story.
The film has some structural issues, but Renaldo the alpaca's hairdo is worth the admissison.

Remarkable craftsmanship and attention to details. Funny, but not cheerful. I had to eat a sugary pastry afterwards.

A challenging look at radicalization. The film doesn't try to put the blame on the parents, the welfare system or drug abuse, but tells us that the picture is complex and not always as we see in the headlines on the news. The morphing effect on the main character's face – inspired by the media's use of the photos of three different women when reporting on the suicide bombing in Paris 2015 – is a bit jarring and uncanny valley at times.

A romantic love story, but not much pathos.
It is based on a novel by the same name. I have not read it, but I think this probably worked better on paper. The characters lacked depth and chemistry, and I never felt engaged in the romance.
But the cinematography was nice.
