I love Kirsten Dunst and think her depiction of depression was remarkable and worthy of all the positive compliments in the world. But I do feel like not enough credit is given to Gainsbourg for her portrayal of anxiety. I found myself very drawn toward Claire. I appreciate every small detail of Gainsbourg's performance that characterize a predisposition to anxiety. A Dark Song 2016
... Genuinely curious as to why people think this is a good movie. The story could have had some potential but unfortunately the dialogue was atrocious, and about 90% of the scenes were tedious, questionable, and senseless. A "slow burn" indeed, that ends up going nowhere. A lot of time is taken in this film to introduce elements of the "ritual" which apparently fool people into believing the film has any depth. Generally the details are brushed over, never mentioned…
