Great movie, great score, very funny. One of my favorite duets Disney ever wrote. Sweet romance, though the hair turning from gold to brown as a metaphor for growing up and being less naive/smarter is sorta cliché, right? Blond ladies are just as smart as the brunette ones, Disney. Elle Woods would probably have some choice words for ya.
Don’t love the plot hole of Mother Gothel dying because Rapunzels hair doesn’t work, but Rapunzel still being able to heal Eugene. That’s kind of annoying.

Ah, probably my favorite Disney movie. So sweet, so funny. What a fabulous soundtrack. Dr. Facilier is the best Disney villain with the most bomb evil anthem (come at me, Lion King stans!).
Love the unapologetically feminine and girly girl Charlotte who might be a bit ditzy from time to time, but knows what she wants (to marry a prince, duh), isn’t ashamed of that goal and still celebrates and is genuinely happy for her girl Tiana when she gets that instead. Just as Tiana wasn’t judgy of Charlottes life ambition to be a girly princess wife. #womensupportingotherwomen

Watched it for a sociology class. Interesting film, though I can’t quite pinpoint why I enjoyed it. After, I felt incredibly uncomfortable, it’s an intentionally unpleasant movie. But it definitely got me thinking. All the actors and actresses are quite good, I enjoyed the symbolism of music, the class signifiers and discussion of wealth.

A most interesting movie. A stellar cast, wonderfully cinematically shot, a very visually pleasing movie. Lots of interesting symbolism, sometimes quite overt and other times more subtle.
All the characters were conceptualized in human and intriguing ways. Nothing felt clichéd or overdone, everyone felt broken, desperate and lonely in different, horrible ways. Much of the plot was about searching for meaning, pleasure and connection; surprisingly universal in it’s unusual execution.
I can’t decide if it felt like an actual class critique…
