  Pretty much the white man's view of India. Lots of great parts in this movie: the soundtrack, the overall story, the child actors, but to me, it was overshadowed by the intense exaggeration of poverty in India for the exclusive purpose to fuel a sense of superiority that American audiences can feed off of.
