Nosferatu 2024
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Three observations on Nosferatu:
1. Orlok isn't evil, but instead claims to be "appetite." This is interesting because it complicates the position of our "heroes." They may be right to stop Orlok, but their reasoning is flawed.
2. Orlok isn't the villain of the film. The villain is the Contract. This applies to all forms of contract: employment contracts, terms of sale, social contracts, etc.
3. The Contract is dialectically opposed to the Covenant: religious covenants like the priests and nuns early in the film, the travellers at the inn, marriage, etc.
4. Blasphemy is when the Covenant is reduced to a Contract.
