    this a deeply uncomfortable film, which plays to its strengths extremely well - curating a sincere and earnest narrative. It’s awkward, sarcastic, and raw. Kieran Culkin was made for this role, in a way that doesn’t even feel like he’s acting. 

    While this is a story about pain and identity, I wish we could’ve delved deeper into the ensemble, perhaps with a longer run time.

It’s campy, satirical, gory, sexual, and a poorly executed allegory of the female experience. In the end, it kind of just comes across as a subtly misogynistic body-gore thriller. There is just something inherently male-gaze, and surface level, about this movie — despite its female involvement. I found myself waiting for the pin to drop, some resolution or realization. But…
