Kicked off Sundance weekend with this one. I really enjoyed it, I thought it was sad, funny, heartfelt, and a little quirky. Dylan O’Brian was so fantastic in this. I thoroughly enjoyed his performance.
Not really movie related, but watching this with a group of friends, all seeing it for the first time was so fun. I hope Ryan never stops organizing movie nights. Sometimes when we watch movies together, I try to steal a moment to watch Ry watching…
The boomers in your life will appreciate this film. I didn’t appreciate it. Hereditary mom was the best part- the only believable part tbh. Everything else just felt like a dragged-out, overly stereotyped law and order episode, with one dimensional characters who basically announced their singular defining characteristic every time they talked. It just spelled everything out over and over again and it was boring. So feel free to watch this movie with your mom/dad/grandma who annoy you by asking “who is that again?” every time they watch a movie, because this movie will answer them repeatedly. The whole thing really peeved me off.
Suspending my opinions about extreme sports such as alpinism, this film really captured someone who truly pursued their passion. I thought it was beautiful and inspiring.
