A sobering experience, to put it mildly. I feel so bad for Basel and all the families portrayed here, I hope they will continue to survive and rebuild. Surviving is a radical act at this point.

I loved this movie. It captures America and the 20th century at their best and worst. Instant classic.
I was on a 4.5 hour flight and this was an option for in-flight entertainment, so I thought I’d take the opportunity and knock out my first Edward Yang film.
I knew it’d be good, but I didn’t expect it to be THAT good. Incredibly rich storytelling, truly felt like reading a novel. The choreography and framing of EVERY single shot was astounding and beautiful. I can’t wait to watch on an actual TV when I get home.
