This feels a lot more three dimensional and human than many other documentaries I've seen discussing similar topics, I think just by nature of the fact that it was produced by its subject. Being that she knows herself, she's able to portray a much more honest and personal recounting of events where her happiness and fun comes through just as much as the deep-set pain, trauma, and turmoil of the conflict.
I appreciate that more layered and compassionate presentation greatly.
