I liked it better when it was called Anora (2024).
But in all seriousness I just wasn't drawn into this story, the characters or much of anything. The camera work is straight up ugly, out of focus in many shots, lighting is blown out in so many scenes and then there's some pov shots that feel completely out of place here. Then you have the awkward dialogue, so-so acting and a story that doesn't really go anywhere. Just didn't do it for me. Gets better towards the end but just nothing really here to return to.

Quite an interesting debut that voyeuristically explores the intimacy of its characters and their suppressed thoughts. Psychologically it's intense, performances establish the emotions very well and create the aura of discomfort when needed. It's a intriguing character driven film that keeps it's direction simple for a more raw feeling and that's the biggest thing working for it.

    Christmas Holiday Movie Week

On second watch this film hit me more emotionally than it did the first time. Pacing is near perfect, acting is great, the message of this film really hits home, its charming, funny and ends with a warm bittersweet note, making you feel thankful for everything you have. I have yet to see a bad James Stewart movie or performancence. This movie is one of his best. Yet another film that come christmas time every year I'll be rewatching.

I wasnt expecting a whole lot and ended up having quite a bit of fun with this film.
The opening 10 minutes were not great and I thought here we go..., 90 minutes of pain. But it got much better as time went on. The humor began to stick, the story, while pretty predictable, still managed to engage me and keep the energy high. The action scenes are not the selling point of this film. Most of them are a…
