This movie was a lot of fun! Marisa Abela was a stand out, I really enjoyed how she played her character, and Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchet were great, but no more interesting that some of the other roles I’ve seen them in. Natalie Portman’s acting is extremely unnerving and affecting, and everything else from the other actors, the special effects, and the writing/directing serves their roles excellently in supporting her performance. A character study with horror characteristics

Never thought I’d see the day Bong Joon Ho missed, but it pains me to say he did here. Telling to the point of exhaustion, heavy handed showing, criminally underused actors across the board, below average humor, and completely unnecessary bulk surrounding a genuinely solid core story. While the voice acting is dated, this movie is absolutely gorgeous, the backgrounds and creature designs blew me away, and the character arc of the Unicorn is nuanced and moving. Also the way she acts when she is turned human and begins to lose her memory is how I act when I’m hungry.
