Prom Night 1980
the pacing is a little slow, but this film is iconic for a reason. i can understand why it was so beloved back then! it just personally isn’t my thing, as i prefer 90s-on slashers!
spoilers, if you somehow haven’t seen this 45 year old movie…
one moment from this movie that i REALLY loved was the scene where kim and nick were fighting the killer on the dance floor with the disco music still playing. it was a really cool contrast to the dancing scene from earlier in the movie!

this movie made me feel like a girl again, while simultaneously exploring exactly what it feels like to be a woman. it had so many lines and situations that very accurately exemplify what it feels like to be a woman and the struggles we go through. Greta has the remarkable talent of being able to do that through her art.
i also loved the attention to detail when referencing certain iconic barbies, as well as how the barbies themselves are…
