  kind of the anti-Crank? a film where a man is in pain the entire time vs a film where a man is never in pain. exactly as enjoyable as that movie but for COMPLETELY different reasons. where Crank looks and sounds like a Max Payne 3 let's play on 4x speed dubbed over by 12 year olds who watch too much family guy, novocaine is a very inoffensive and fun action comedy that everyone can enjoy, fingernail stuff notwithstanding. would make a great double feature with crank, I think i could learn something about the human condition doing that.   kinda like a Mario video game, just mechanical perfection, a show of Nolan and crew's technical mastery over the medium of film with little to say for story. this guy could make a movie about paint drying a riveting experience
