  I’ve never been afraid of the dark so maybe that’s my problem with this. My bedroom was in the basement growing up and I still walk around in the dark instead of turning on lights because I know the layout of where I live. A dark hallway is just not inherently scary to me. 

  It’s not even the format of this movie that bothered me, it was the themes and how they just were not scary. The generic off-brand cartoons…
