The way I see the film at the moment is that “The Visitor” is Nikki Grace in the future, and the rest of the film is the visitor attempting to remember her past when she was an actress and later (or before) a prostitute; however, in between she lost her sanity which is explains the surreal look of the film and the hallucinations that occur. Why is she trying to remember her past? She is trying to uncover the truth of the cursed screenplay and save the “Lost Girl”. After saving the “Lost Girl” she can finally come to terms with her haunted past.
