More ridiculous than the first Children of the Corn, but less funny.
This movie contains the SWEATIEST sex scene I have ever seen— and it’s completely unnecessary. They add a goth kid to make the cult kids creepier, cause I guess there wasn’t enough of that? They also tried to explain the corn thing but came up with like three explanations and then never stuck to one— one of those explanations was that the corn demon was “ancient Indian magic”…

This was such an overstimulating movie. I feel like the problem with a lot of modern horror is there are no “quiet” scenes anymore. There’s no time to take in the movie or contemplate what is happening. Every scene felt like a climax— and that was annoying. The jump-scares were cheap but also simultaneously the best part of the movie. I wish Beverly was a better written character and not just some preteen’s wet dream of what a “cool girl” is. (But I also know she was written like that in the book too.)
