  The word ‘genius’, in fashion, is overused. Today ‘fashion genius’ is almost interchangeable with ‘fashion celebrity.' It's often used to describe multihyphenates in praise of their ability to manage multiple creative projects at once (e.g. Virgil Abloh, Rihanna, etc.) Or its use is motivated principally by nostalgia for designers who are no longer with us.
