This was an uncanny valley nightmare that I had to sit through because my Grandma wanted to watch it. My Grandma loved it tho. If you are looking for a movie to show your Grandma this is a good choice.

Anora tackles sexual trauma, classism, and being objectified in a unique and thought provoking way. It’s reminiscent of Pretty Women and a Nosveratu fused into one. Would highly recommend this movie to anyone looking to feel gently shaken.

I Capture the Castle 2003
Imposter syndrome, classism, and the complex experiences of love all wrapped in an aesthetic production. (I must note I have not read the book it is based on—but I am going to after watching this movie). I originally threw it on as something for my Grandma to watch—but I was entranced by the amazing scenery and costuming of this movie. The acting was a bit iffy at times—mostly the men—but I found myself entertained. It was reminiscent of Midsummer Nights…
