  Severely misguided enmeshing of science and spirituality through a douche-patriarch’s perspective. I love Sofi’s character. Regardless of how MPDG she comes across, people like her do exist and the world is better for it.

  Gimmicky, new-age (by this, I mean neoliberally ‘woke’) rendition of a powerful story. It absolutely rubs me the wrong way that fickle audiences will view this as authentic in any way thanks to its first person camerawork which, quite frankly, comes across as shoddy and painfully premeditated. This film deserves a raw sense of realism. Jesus H, at the very least the editors could have pulled back from the rapidfire shot shot shot cut shot shot shot shots and the nonsensical close-ups. Dirty the camera a little. Lose the aesthetics. 

  Whitehead should’ve stuck with it and denied all his works film adaptations.
