A murderous criminal is on the loose so a cop is sent undercover into the deep underground gay leather world, this was a solid enough thriller the atmosphere is gritty and the cinematography is very good. William Firiedkin is bold with the way he tells the story and Al Pacino puts in a really good subdued performance . The film is unsettling and does have a really interesting premise. I also liked the controversial ending.

The Lost Weekend 1945
The lost Weekend is a gruelling portrayal of alcoholism. It’s very harrowing and is certainly not afraid of pulling any punches in this graphic bleak picture. The film is very raw, graphic and unflinching in the way it looks at a man’s life controlled by the destruction of alcoholism.
A lost Weekend is a more serious drama than I’m used to from Wilder but the dialogue is as fast and good as it usually is. Ray Milan puts in a truly real extraordinary performance here as an alcoholic and dominates every scene through his personality. This is a tough watch with an important message.

Mickey 17 2025
Bong Joon-ho follows up on the breathtaking Parasite with Mickey 17 which is much lighter in tone. The film has its own unique style as it mixes Sci-Fi with black comedy and has moments that are really funny. The story follows Mickey who is an expendable who gets cloned every time he dies after a mission. The film plays on this in various different forms whether emotionally or the humour behind it in playful fashion,
Mickey 17 does not live…

Le Samouraï 1967
Everything about this film oozes style and cool. Director builds the tension of this story about a hitman. There was no dialogue inside the first 10 mins but it was so stylishly done I was hooked straight away. Exceptional filmmaking on show throughout
