I think most of the hate stems from this being based on an original Universal Monster story and that it really doesn't at all resemble that. Which might trigger you if that's what you were expecting.

Absolutely ZERO chemistry between Ryan and Russell what-so-ever.
The movie didn't seem to know what the f it wanted to be. You had the LA Noire type music in one scene and then absolutely flat "jokes" about sex (told my minors by the way!!? WHAT??) and a story that quite literally goes absolutely NOWHERE.
Best part of the movie: The porn star in the car at the start and the end credits.
Worst part of the movie: EVERY SINGLE scene…
