A fun 1990s styled throwback to Gremlins mixed with the cheesiness of Ghoulies!
The director brings the same irreverent comedy he displayed in Psycho Goreman, which, at times, is needed since this is akin to a PG rated film. However, it’s fun to see a film, after all these years, embrace the 80s feel of a kids movie where we ask…. Is this too fucked up for the kids?
I have a feeling this one is going to get misunderstood… but it’s a fun, goofy, nonsensical time!

If only the movie had as much energy as its trailer did..
…that’s it? Was I in a bad mood when I watched this? The directing is great, the premise is solid, the cast has so much going for it… BUT I was underwhelmed! The comedy seemed flat at times, the story meandered and was bloated… Even the deeper meaning of the film was just stiff and lackluster. This should have been THE movie of the year so far… but honestly, I was checking my watch…
