I don't often watch musicals but this time I did (by accident... I didn't know it was a musical but it became apparent very quickly😅). The song scenes were well made and the story was very Shakespeare like but with a little Tim Burton sprinkled in. The damsel in distress plot was a bit boring imo and Wisener's character seemed very empty and she was only used as a plot device...

The Man Without a Past 2002
The humor was absolutely hilarious, the deadpan acting combined with the formal Finnish pronunciation made some of the most funny scenes. This is the best Finnish film that I've seen so far!

The Brutalist 2024
A film that has so much to tell (well it has the time with over 3h of film...). The cinematography and score Oscars were duly deserved (gonna go listen to the soundtrack on Spotify). The movie's slow pace gave enaugh time for the tension to build and the intermission actually worked well to give time to breathe between the halves. I was ready to see amazing architecture on screen but was met with an interesting story about discrimination, abuse, addiction and love.

Eraserhead 1977
A long awaited rewatch of this film. The first screening left 16-year-old me traumatised but I've since slowly felt the urge to see it again and face my demons. After this watch I am able to more appreciate the subtleties and story of this Lynch classic. Still not an all pleasant watch but a better film than what I thought yesterday!
