    Gut punch after gut punch.

Tara dancing her little heart out to escape.

Fi recognising that a girl on her own isn't safe and taking her into her group's protection.

Tara's own friends misinterpreting what happened and giving her props for it rather than recognising her distress (something I have personally experienced).

And it's all just so normal. None of it ever feels catastrophic or world-ending. The holiday continues because it must. This is the world we live in.

Any film with a multi-lingual bitching session is always going to have a special place in my heart, but this wasn't quite the masterpiece that I had expected.

I enjoyed watching it and maybe on rewatch I'll change my rating, but it was grand.

The strings were intrusive at parts rather than just intensifying things too.

I did appreciate the reminder, as a ex-Catholic, that it was men like this—men, and not gods—who caused me so much harm in the past with their made-up doctrine, and that they're all likely power hungry petty bitches in the end.

I WANT to like this film, given that I'm crazy about guinea pigs, but that very fact made me pretty mad with all the depictions of poor husbandry and generally bad animal care in this film. Yes, I know it isn't real, but I also know that kids copy what they see on screen and I pity the animals that were bought as a result of this film.

Unapologetic Christmas tack, which is why I liked it.
