A tight 215; my favorite!
A take on the typical American immigrant story. The generosity of this country comes as a barbaric power trip. Lots of depth to play with here but upon first watch, I cant help but feel I had to do most of the work as an audience member fleshing out the themes. Stagnant characters and shallow exploration of themes somehow unexplored in the runtime.
Stunning visuals, haunting soundtrack, and good acting.
Wanted so much more and so much less.
