Cryptic story line and no dialogue in the film but that’s honestly cool because it puts you more in the perspective of the animals, and I appreciate that they didn’t anthropomorphise the animals in that way. Made me think about the way animals experience unexpected challenges, and sometimes make unconventional friendships. Also my heart hurt every time the cat meowed.
Are the floods cyclical? If so, the bond between the cat and the colossal whale-like animal is all the more bittersweet. Their respective survival depends on opposite parts of the cycle.
