  i was gonna say i prefer the book to the movie but theres so much to love here, especially the fire place scene. elio's love for oliver is so grandiose that it almost feels like a life-like entity shadowing him at all times, trying to rip through the space between them. i think this movie posits the question—especially in a love that blurs the line of identity—are the people we fall in love with reflections of us or are we mirrors of them?
