  sacrificing biblical faithfulness in film adaptation is fine, nay encouraged, as long as it makes the story more interesting or more valuable or just better in literally any way which in my humble faux catholic (protestant baptised) opinion is not the case here. come on, you have the greatest untold story of motherhood and religious faith and humanity lying at your feet ribbon-tied with a 70 million dollar check and this is what you come up with?
