Queerness, obsession with existence, hope, freedom, Hong Kong
While speaking to the uniqueness of Hong Kong, this film beautifully captures the universal human experience—I am you, and you are me
Crying while reading a novel by a Taiwanese American writer (“Stay True”), cleaning the house, and doing laundry—through these everyday moments, I realized that solidarity with each person's uniqueness and struggles is, in the end, something universal.
Maybe it was because I was so absorbed in analyzing the colorful tie patterns that came up… I didn’t really get a sense of their suffering or what this movie was trying to convey.
