I am giving this half a star because I enjoyed watching Richard E. Grant realise he could wear his suit of armour to the birthday party
An otherwise excruciating film, devoid of any subtlety or nuance from start to finish, and which unbelievably managed to degenerate more and more right up to its final dull explanation of its own absurd ending.

Well she doesn't grow steadfast in her purpose to stand for equality and liberation for a start. She does for a bit, in the middle section, which was really interesting, exploring what happens if you grow up quicker than the time it takes to indoctrinate you with colonial/patriarchal norms.
But she ultimately returns to the men she has been imprisoned by in London and doesn't truly confront their violations of her life and body, and all of her curiosity and…
