Finished the book recently so thought I'd watch the movie, only came away from it disappointed by how much good, nuanced stuff was left out. There's so little dialogue between the main characters you don't get a sense of who they are - if we need to talk about Kevin so badly maybe they should let us SEE KEVIN!!!!!!!!
Anyway it was a passable movie but just felt like it left out all the most interesting parts of the book, even Tilda couldn't help me shake my disappointment when the credits rolled. Everyone go read the book x

I was fully expecting to be disillusioned by the runtime because I think - most of the time - if your movie is 2h40m it's because you don't know how to edit, but honestly I felt as though each minute was well-utilised and added to the characters, story, or world. Also, kinda crazy that this felt like a film made with genuine love for the story? I really didn't expect that. I wish they let Fiyero wear his cute lil outfit from the musical instead of blue-and-grey-ifying him!!!
