avant-garde lover 🚏
⟢i forget this exists.
a story that’s equal parts haunting and intimate. there's a quiet intensity that builds in every scene, almost like a ticking clock you can't quite hear but know is there.
i think i'm in love with the tension that lingers, not from action or jump scares, but from the quiet unraveling of the character's mind.
side note: srsly though what the hell did i just watch
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
“i wanna be just like a melody, just like a simple sound, like in harmony.”
how does such a heartwrenching film maintain such a dreamy ambiance? how does it remain so beautiful despite it all? it's the mesmerizing music, paired with breathtaking visuals, editing & the story's unconventional structure that leaves you with no choice but to remain immersed. but unlike iwai's other films, this film feels devoid of warmth, it feels like being trapped in a small room and watching…
“if i ever get out of here, i'll never make love again.”
a film that's empathetic towards women is a film to adore. this was tender, haunting..beautiful. the girls dancing and holding onto each other crying as night in white satin plays softly in the background has my heart. the genuine camaraderie that exists between women is the greatest & most tender relationship ever; they'll be your biggest supporters and confidants. i love women.
note: found it extra endearing because ree recommended it <3
