Past Lives 2023
Can’t remember a more emotionally mature depiction of this kind of story. Generally declines traditional impulses. In doing so, Song maybe sacrifices a quick bump of drama but achieves a slow, resonant burn. Filled with sadness and love. It feels almost tragic but is filled with hope.
Shot beautifully. Greta, Teo, and John were all note perfect.
