Movies move me.
Current Favorites: Rest well, David Lynch (1946-2025).
If they had just made a 90 minute movie solely about Sandy Lyle, this would’ve been better than Godfather 2.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I’d forgotten this ended with “Where Are They Now?” title cards, which feels like a rather banal way to end a movie that is otherwise so compelling and kinetic. Roy Scheider and Gene Hackman have always been two of my favorite actors from a subgroup of performers I’ve lovingly dubbed “Dudes My Dad Fucks With Heavy,” so it’s always a treat watching them play off each other.
RIP Mr. Hackman.
All in all, this was a fun theater movie with a couple poignant Harrison Ford moments. Also, a marked improvement over Crystal Skull.
