  have concluded that i can't count any first watch i had of a david lynch movie (besides inland empire) since i don't even remember who i was back then to like or dislike any of these movies. also important is being in the scond row of the theater. on a rewatch this was incredible.

  definitely better than i expected it to be. still full of nolanisms which, while still keeping a steady and fun pace, detracted from the experience a bit. i wanted more of the harrowing trial and personal life and less quips/2 minute cameos from Historical Figure 5. the car pulling away to reveal einstein behind it was comical, felt very marvel.

  more i think about this one the worse it gets. havent actually seen anything else of coppola’s (besides once half-watching the godfather) so perhaps something is lost on me there. sort of the movie equivalent of accelerationists posting ai generated images of people in roman garb boarding a spaceship. at times there would be something interesting to say, something gripping, and the next scene would just completely lose it. i found myself liking this more than i expected while watching…
