Was a bit odd to see a real-life Pooh and friends walking around. It felt odd to see them dirty and grimy, but, living outdoors, like a real animal, it made sense.

I grew up with Pooh, but in cinematic terms, Paddington has moved far beyond what Pooh does here.

My dad visited last weekend, and I felt the need to subject him to the Coen's latest. The Western motif helps to make this more accessible to people of various ages and demographics. However, the tone and setting vary wildly in each piece, truly making them feel like their own short film.

This is the Coen's at their best, playing with genre while paying homage to prior film periods.

The most approachable of Yorgos Lathimos' filmography, 'The Favourite' is a fierce flip of gender dynamics typically found in a costume period piece. The power struggle between the triumvirate of fantastic female leads is very compelling, and based on fact, and is carried by the acting prowess of Olivia Colman, Rachel Weisz, and Emma Stone. The men float around the periphery of these three, attempting to gain power and attention, while doffing cake makeup, powdered wigs, and false moles.
