I think this movie aged too well. It’s so prescient that it feels preachy watching it now, so on the nose that it’s exhausting. On some level I think it makes it a great film (and I absolutely loved it when I first watched it like 5 years ago) but on rewatch it felt interminable, and I bailed 80% of the way through, almost dreading the last scene

I didn’t rewatch it or anything but the more I think about it the more I think it fuckin whipped. The first act of the movie is such a perfect culmination of the cascading layers of reality trope, and the things that ppl hate about the self-aware winky stuff is exactly why it works.
