  What a debut from Michael Mann. He’s in total control here, already lacing his movies with the style he would come to be known and loved for. The neon slicked nights are to die for, and with the Tangerine Dream score…it’s dynamite - but with a very slow burning fuse. You know it’s going to blow, but you can’t help watching the beautiful glow of the sparks. Despite its thrilling moments, it’s also brilliantly cold. James Caan is very charismatic…
