"Bastard in a basket"!!! What a movie. It has it's boring moments but somehow finds a way to bring you right back in. The acting was great and so was the cinematography. There were a few moments where the messaging was strong and I liked that as it leaves the meaning open-ended.
There's nothing more to say than this is a classic "go to" if your looking for some genuine laughs.
Chaplin's first feature length film was definitely ahead of its time and also paved the way for the future of this era. As someone who was adopted this definitely hits home for me and I couldn't give this film more praise.
As I dive into the silent film era Chaplin to me so far has the most relatable films. Definitely a cinema G.O.A.T and I can't wait to continue following his work!
