I initially felt some aspects of the film awkward.. then realized that they do because they don't fit to the modern narrative of a happy life tied to success, recognition, power, wealth.
Yet, Paterson seems happy.
As the film unfolds, you come to see what he sees - that happiness doesn't always roar. Sometimes it whispers. Sometimes it simply is.
