Probably the purest expression of Wes Anderson's very personal, idiosyncratic style - visually and verbally, his career was leading to this. I don't know if any film can be more Wes Anderson than this film is.

The Guilt Trip 2012
I avoided this when it was in theaters, mostly because it seemed like the joke was over once you heard the title and the stars. Watching it at home on Epix in the middle of a Sunday afternoon, I found it funny and sweet. And it made me like Seth Rogen AND Barbara Streisand, something I wouldn't have bet any amount of money on any film being able to accomplish.

Joe Versus the Volcano 1990
Tragically underrated. A beautifully simple fairy tale.

The Wolf of Wall Street 2013
The purest example of SHOW, don't TELL in theaters currently. Intense, no holds barred, unflinching, profane, at times vulgar, basically everything you expect and look forward to in a Scorcese picture.
Destined to be misunderstood and debated for years to come, much like Michael Winterbottom's "The Killer Inside Me".
Don't make the mistake of confusing glamorizing with over-sensitizing, when assigning motivation to the filmmaker.
