Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut

    ★★★½

While capturing the spirit of the first film, this sequel is held back from its true potential. I'm aware of the production background behind the two different releases of the film (theatrical & director's) has created a divide for the fans impression of Donner's intent for the two films but judging by its own merits, it's a flawed but charming follow up to the first film. The heart of a superman story is his humanity and selflessness contrary to the widespread…

    Evil Dead II

    ★★★★

Sam raimi steps up to the plate and flexes his horror comedic genius. Evil dead 2 is a masterclass blend of raunchy horror and comedic tom foolery. Playing into all the best aspects of The evil dead, this sequel expands upon the concept and throws realism out the window, going for a full on silly gore fest. Fantastic practical effects, plenty of stupid moments, and a chainsaw arm, I quite enjoyed my time with this one over the first. Evil dead 2 is a must watch for any horror/comedy fan

    Hellboy: The Crooked Man

    ★★★★

Hellboy the crooked man is a wonderful low budget, dark, hokey flick. From beginning to end the movie keeps the tone of chilling, creepy, and isolation the original short comic established so well. Jack kesey owns the role of Hellboy with his nonchalant and sarcastic whit the character is known for in the comics and other media. The rest of the cast did an excellent job alongside Kesey and really brought to life the atmosphere of mignola's short story anthologies.…

    Godzilla vs. Gigan

    ★★★★

A fantastic return to an iconic rivalry with new twists and turns. Godzilla vs gigan introduces the second alien kaiju for Godzilla to face, Gigan. Bringing back Ghidorah and Anguirus sets up many great moments and action set pieces. The storyline in the film adheres to sillier tone showa is known for but doesn't shy away from its serious and even dark moments. A solid plot that gets us through lots of thrilling action and an incredible final kaiju battle between the titular monsters and the aforementioned returning kaiju. Godzilla vs Gigan is a top kaiju film
