This must be some kind of reverse Emperor’s New Clothes situation, because this is a very good film in many ways. Sure, I can absolutely see why this wasn’t a box office hit, but the Golden Razzie nomination for Worst Picture and whatnot—and win for Worst Screen Combo for Phoenix and Gaga??? Did we watch the same movie? If anything, Phoenix should definitely have been nominated for Best Actor…
I was a little bit “too old” (17) to watch this one when it originally premiered. I watched it now in Japanese with my son (since I live in Japan).
Maybe it was the dub that made me not fully grasp the story, but I’m afraid I didn’t really understand what was really going on in the movie. To me, it seems like it didn’t have a traditional Pixar-esque plot with well-thought-out acts but was more a kind of “hangout”…
