  I struggle with reminding the viewer of Gaiman. My prejudice against Dresden Dolls / Burtoncore has not changed since release. It turned out I had seen most of this before, scattershot, on telly.

  A lot of cool people worked hard on this, but fundamentally it feels not for me. I enjoyed Other Mother's changing designs, the songs, the beetle motif, and the colours. Tremendous setpieces make me want to increase my score. I love that stop motion movies get made and I will support them more in theatres.

  A haven of makeup, stunts and Aristotelian unities wherein every shot tells a story. Every second of the film happens for a reason. A hilarious and miserable movie of extraordinary maximalism and austerity, about a world we live in and create, exploited by etiolated, barrel-chested genetic dynasts, better with every viewing.

  Make no mistake: one of the best movies you have ever seen.

Following
