One of the best world builder movies, with a slow reveal complemented by one of the best acting performances you will ever see by Jim Carrey. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, filmed 6 years later, serves as a nice companion piece, with themes of discovering truths that are known by everyone else but not by the protagonist.

Ed Harris plays the Creator and falls into the god-like role, culminating in the storm scene and a powerful and near-perfect ending.…

A film that gently and beautifully rips your heart out of your chest cavity.

    Sicario

    ★★

A beautiful bore, Sicario takes half baked plotlines to make a point about corruption within intelligence services. Emily Blunt is miscast as a CIA operative who finds herself in a situation that is too big for her. Funny, intriguing, beautiful picture which quickly became one of my favorites. Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn star in a throwback comedy, mystery, thriller with great dialogue and romance. Comic book villains and suspense.  A young Walter Matthau was added bonus.

When I saw Breakfast at Tiffany's, I thought Hepburn's personality and character were a bit…

Yeah…so this was a deep cut.

I’m proud of myself for sticking this one out. I got really good SAT scores, but this one totally escaped me.  I felt like I was watching a satire of an Italian film from the 60’s.

Am I being punked?  Really good shadows, I guess?  Idk.

To be honest, I'm tired of superhero movies. Did not like last 2 Avenger movies. Have spent last 15 years watching a lot of cartoons too, so that's a little played out too.

But holy crap, Into the Spider-Verse hit every single button. Likable characters, strong story line, incredible animation, humor, nostalgia, music. It was the whole package, and I can't believe it took me so long to get to it. To stand apart as a superhero flic for me,…
