This is Denzel Washington’s movie, and he gives a fine performance.  But it was Christopher Walken whom I most enjoyed watching.  His role in the movie was bigger than I expected.   This is a good thing.

One thing I took away from this film:  if I am ever in a position to walk away from a man who has a bomb in his rectum that is about to explode, I will absolutely tell him that I wish he had more time.  Rectum?  It KILLED ‘im!

I watched this movie last year, and remember almost nothing about it.  I do recall getting the impression, while watching it, that its makers thought it would be a blockbuster.  Yeah, about that.  Anyway, maybe at some point I’ll watch it again for Jodie Comer.

It's been a looooong time since I saw this one, but here's what I remember: Creature Feature type movie show that one of the local stations would run in the late afternoons, so I was able to watch it after getting home from school. This film came up on there a couple of times. Not a particularly good movie, but the titular...uh...thing really grossed me out. Seeing Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing acting in the same movie is always fun, though. I don't know if I could recommend this film, but I wouldn't warn anyone away from it, either.

As Monty Python movies go, "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" seems to be their signature film, and the one with the most staying power, but "Life of Brian" is what I have always considered their magnum opus. A takedown of messiah-worship culture, and cults in general, it makes its points and serves plenty of humor at the same time. Even if the movie was trash, it would still be a classic for bringing us "Always Look On The Bright Side of Life". And "Biggus Dickus". And "WELEASE WOGER!" And "He's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy!" And...you get the picture.
