  everything minus the song was new information to me and it just made me want to read about American history (and world history, for that matter) from an artistic point of view; music, fashion, visual arts. why decades music sound the way they do, how those artists came to be, political and global influences, etc etc. Note to self to look up good reads with that specification. really interesting context with this song though.
