The Electric State 2025
This wasn't that bad, just typical Netflix slop. However if this actually cost 320 million dollars to make people need to go to jail for money laundering and probably human trafficking.
We all know at this point that Netflix and other studios say they want their films to work while you're scrolling on your phone paying attention to other things, and I have to say in that regard the movie is a massive success. My phone beckoned me the entire runtime.

Repentance 1984
Been reading a lot of news these days for whatever reason. Too much news. A 40 year old Soviet era pitch black political satire was just what the doctor ordered.
Sad that I feel that our current era isn't capable of a political commentary with this much depth, intelligence or artistry, at least not in North America. Whether that's the fault of toothless commentators, or that our political institutions have just become too idiotic to talk about with intelligence, I don't know. Probably both.
If I were a talented hotshot director I would steal from this shamelessly
